“Granted, Hoboken NJ is not Disneyland or New York, but it is filled with interesting history and cultural artifacts that have survived The Great Depression, Hurricane Sandy, and a yuppie invasion. Avi was very knowledgeable as a guide, having a background in the restaurant/food industry, and made the tour quite interesting. My only suggestion was that the food consumption should be more evenly spaced during the walking instead of bunched up toward the end. The booking/confirmation process through Cloud 9 was initially less than satisfactory. I received this experience as a Christmas gift in December 2015. I booked and confirmed my redeem date weeks in advance of June of 2016, for which I had to drive to NJ from Ohio--over 6 hours. On the day of my arrival (day before the tour), I received a call that the experience had been cancelled due to lack of participants. Given the distance I had to travel, that was completely unacceptable. Interestingly, I ended up in Hoboken that Saturday anyway when I heard about the Hoboken Music and Arts Fair. Could THAT have been the reason for the cancellation? Hopefully, communication between Cloud 9 and its subcontractors (Mangia Hoboken) has improved since then. ”
“We really enjoyed our visit to Hoboken and hearing about the history of the town and seeing many of the remaining mom and pop shops. We especially liked our visit to the mozzarella bosses shop. This tour would be even better if we got to meet more of the owners of the stores and hearing their stories.”
Response from Cloud 9 Living
Hi Nancy, Thank you for sharing! I'm glad you had a fun time. I'm sure meeting the owners was a great perk and I'd be happy to pass your suggestion on to the tour company. Warm Regards, Inah
