Can I jump with my friends?
Yes! Sharing the experience with your friends and family is fantastic.
What do I wear?
Wear comfortable clothing and athletic shoes (NO open toed shoes or hiking boots or shoes with hooks). On warm sunny days you may choose to jump in shorts and a t-shirt, please note, tank tops or sleeveless shirts are not comfortable under the harness. On colder days jeans and a long sleeved shirt or sweatshirt may be appropriate. No bare feet or sandals are allowed.
What will the skydive feel like?
The sensation of freefall is more like flying than falling, and the parachute flight is quiet and inspiring.
What does my first jump include?
Can I get a video of my jump?
Your first tandem skydive includes:
* Pre-jump instructional class
* One tandem jump harnessed to a professional Instructor
* Approximately one minute of freefall from 13,000 feet
* A scenic 5 to 7 minute parachute flight
* skydiving videos are available for an additional charge
Yes, of course. You can purchase a video for $99.
What kind of parachute will we use?
A 7 - 8 minute film of your skydive, dubbed on to a DVD, edited with music. We expect to film you at various times from when you leave the classroom to after your landing. However, because of the number of variables the only part that we guarantee is the freefall phase. Bonus footage may include climbing into the aircraft, takeoff, the climb to altitude, exit, under canopy and landing.
The parachutes used are specifically designed, large "ram-airs". A ram-air is a high technology "square" parachute, as opposed to the old style round parachutes.
What time will I jump, so my friends can watch?
If you are making a Tandem Skydive, jumps usually begin between 1 and 4 hours after your scheduled class time. The first hour of your day is spent on training and paperwork, so if your friends want to show up a bit later, that is okay. Once your class is trained, we assign groups to aircraft loads. Classes have 1 - 12 people and are comprised of various groups and individual students, so there will likely be more than one airplane flight and not everyone will be on the first load. We suggest you plan 3 - 4 hours for weekday tandem jumps and 4 - 5 hours on weekends.
Can I take my own camera with me?
No. You are too busy with your skydive to look after your cameras. It may very easily get lost or broken and we can not risk dropping it in freefall or under parachute.
What if the weather forecast is bad?
Neither we, nor the weatherman, are 100% accurate at predicting the weather here in the NW. We do not cancel jumps based on the forecast - all weather decisions are made on the day of the jump. We do not jump in the rain or through the clouds, but lots of partly cloudy / partly sunny days are especially great for skydiving, but those days can require long waits, so patience is involved. If you have a question on weather, you can call shortly before you head out for your scheduled time and we'll let you know the status of the day. If for some reason we need to cancel, we'll give you a call.
