This was a absolutely great experience. The aircraft is in outstanding shape inside and out. The pilot, David, is great, as he gives you easy to understand instructions. The aircraft is fun to fly and really maneuvers like a dream. David even took the controls and did some flying of his own, demonstrating how nimble the Stearman is to fly. No wonder the Army Air Corps. Used these planes as trainers. I would recommend this experience because you get to fly, look over the beautiful area of Warrenton, and just get a bit of history about WWII aircraft training. Big thanks to David!!!!

Hi Alan, thanks so much for the raving review and for taking the time to write in about your experience! We're so glad you had an absolutely great experience and that you got the chance to fly with David - he really is an amazing pilot with so much knowledge to share. I will be sure to pass along your kind words to our pilot, David for you. We hope to see you back again soon for more fun and adventures! Best, Kelsey
AWESOME!!! SUPER!!! FANTASTIC!!! WOW!!! This was one of those experiences of a lifetime. My kids got me this ride as a birthday present. I used to fly as a non-pilot for the Air Force. I've flown with friends a few times in small aircraft. I have many years of flying computer flight simulators. This was a crowning experience to be able to take control of a real plane and do some basic maneuvers. The plane just gleams. It is a testament to Dave Brown's love of flying and his love of sharing that with others. Compared to others it is a Cadillac (or Mercedes) - very solid. Dave is very personable and provides history and stories of his flying this historic aircraft. He goes into detail on the controls, instrumentation and flight characteristics based on his perception of your flying knowledge. He exudes the love of flight. This experience is more than well worth it for anybody that has the slightest love of flying!

Hi Alan, we are so glad you had such an AWESOME time and thanks so much for sharing with us we hope to see you back again soon for more experiences of a lifetime!
This was a bucket list event for me. As a boy standing in my backyard i used to watch Stearman Biplanes based at a local airport do acrobatics. I would become an attack helicopter pilot in Vietnam. While doing the acrobatics added a new flying experience, I was right at home with the low level flying. What a great experience.

Hi Ron, wow thanks for sharing your amazing story! We are thrilled you had such a great experience and that we got to help you cross off another Bucket List item. We hope you can cross off more items with us soon. Best, Kelsey
This was a truly memorable experience. The conditions were perfect. David inspired confidence as a pilot and instructor. He was knowledgeable, patient, and helpful. Getting to actually fly the plane for a while in a controlled manner was nerve wracking but tremendous fun; the wing-overs, low passes, stalls and dives that David then did were an exhilarating bonus. It all went by too fast. Highly recommended for anyone who likes planes or WWII history. Or Both!

I soared! It was an amazing experience. Facebook friends came out of the woodwork in awe! Pilot Dave wanted nothing more than to provide a great time in the sky - and he did.
Everything was great! The Pilot was very knowledgeable and friendly and helped my dad have the best time flying. I highly recommend giving this as a gift to anyone.
Awesome!
I bought this my boyfriend , who has everything and anything , He had the best time, it was a surprise birthday gift. When he saw where we were and what he was doing. He was like a little kid. He told me , it was the best gift he had ever received, Dave our pilot was amazing. I screwed up the dates and called and asked if if there was anyway we could come the date I THOUGHT was the day. He was so accommodating and was able to fit us in , so a big shout out to Dave for being such a great guy.
The 30-minute biplane ride was terrific! I bought this for my husband as a birthday gift and he loved it. David of Stearman Biplanes was so friendly, and took the time to tell him lots of great history and technical information about the plane. Everything felt safe, fun, and exciting! The only downside is that it all went by too quickly. My husband said 30 minutes was a great length of time for a ride - he could have gone another 10-15 minutes but said 60 didn't seem necessary. Thanks to David and all at Stearman/Cloud 9 for an easy booking and gifting experience! We already recommended it to friends who are eagerly looking into it.
I was gifted this flight by my sister because she knows how much I love planes, especially the ones my grandfather flew. I ended up paying extra to do the premium package for the aerobatics and it was outstanding! Dave is a friendly and excellent guide. He walks through the safety protocols and guides you throughout the entire experience. We were chatting on the radio throughout the adventure about the scenery and maneuvers. I would highly recommend this adventure to any thrill seekers, anyone looking to ride in a piece of history from WWII, anyone looking for new perspectives on familiar landscapes, and for an eye-opening, soul jumping, hell of a good time. Dave was an excellent and safe pilot and this adventure exceeded my every expectation. Thank you Dave!
David was awesome and the ride was great. Been too long since I have been in the cockpit and it made me realize how much I miss flying. David is a great pilot and tour guide, highly recommended!

I do hope we see you again for another blast from the past moment and just to get you back up in the clouds! Thanks again for sharing your memories with us! All the best,  Chelsea
I’d briefly flown a single-engine plane in the past, but flying in an open cockpit biplane is an experience like no other. David is a great teacher and an interesting guy, and makes sure you’re comfortable with the plane, the controls, and everything about the flight. And, man, is it exhilarating. Highly recommend this if you have even a passing interest in flying.

Good Afternoon Matthew and Meredith!  Thank you for taking to the time to write in and share this beautiful experience with us! I am so pleased to read that the biplane ride exceeded your expectations! David will be so happy to hear that you enjoyed your time controlling the Biplane. This is definitely on my must do list and it brings me so much joy reading when others have found a new respect and love of such a unique aircraft. We do hope we see you again for another great adventure and thank you for letting us be apart of what sounds like a fabulous gift! All the best,  Chelsea
This is a bucket list gotta-do!!! If you want to feel a connection to aviation of the past ... the open cockpit ... the pulsating/throbbing of a prop/piston-driven biplane, you gotta check this out. My biggest problem was my sore face after --- from smiling and laughing throughout the 60 minute flight! Dave provided a fantastic experience and did not hesitate to communicate to me at the level I wanted --- whether to just feel comfortable and confident on what was going to happen during the flight, or the process of maintaining the aircraft, or the role the aircraft played over its 75+ year history... Dave can and will go into the detail you want. My family got this ride for a 60th birthday gift and as a connection to my Dad, who trained British cadets in WWII in this type of plane. This was an experience that accomplished that and also connected me with another place in time. This was a great experience. Dave was great, the plane was great, the ride was great. And while I had this originally as an activity on my bucket list... I think it is an activity that I will figure how to repeat on an annual basis! Thanks, Dave!
This was a gift for my younger brother. Mr. Brown (pilot) was very cheerful and accommodating in answering all of my brother's questions and providing history about the plane and information on how this type of plane was used during WWII. My brother requested a couple of special maneuvers and Mr. Brown was able to accommodate. It was a great experience all around.
I am extremely impressed with Dave Brown (pilot) and the whole experience. Dave was very engaging and candid about what we would do and what he expected from me as the passenger. He put Marion at ease with his answers and description of the flight and the precautions taken. The area of the flight is a beautiful rural valley with the background of the Blue Ridge mountains. I was able to fly the airplane and do some simple maneuvers; stalls, turns, wing-overs with Dave leading me through the maneuvers. For someone who has not flown an airplane in 40 years, it was a thrill that's hard to describe. Thank you, Dave. Beautiful airplane and fantastic pilot.
David was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about his plane. He gave a brief background about it, showed me the details of the plane, and explained everything he thought I needed to know prior to take-off. It was a great experience.
Captain Dave was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Nothing can describe how overwhelmed I was by this once in a lifetime experience. Given the opportunity I would not hesitate to go again.
David Brown, owner, operator and pilot is exceptionally accommodating. As a 32-year career Air Force pilot, I found David to be knowledgeable, proficient and highly professional. Despite my advanced age, I would happily book another flight. It was great. Thanks.
Awesome. I would do it again.
The pilot is exceptionally good. He carefully listened, and took care of my hubby who is a pilot and was also very satisfied with the experience. It was awesome. Kudos to the pilot for excellent customer service!
This was truly a great experience. Mr. Brown was awesome. I can't say enough good things about him. He made the experience even better for myself and my family. I would recommend this experience to anyone I know. Thanks so much.
Brown Aviation is a top-notch organization. I had complete confidence as I took controls of the plane. I would highly recommend this experience.
My experience of fly a WWII Biplane was awesome! Dave Brown, the pilot, has a such passion for flying that is evident in his meticulous care for his biplane and his excellent service to his clients. Dave took the time to explain the specifics of the plane and what I would be doing as a passenger and a pilot, which made me feel totally at ease during the whole process. The flight itself was definitely incredible and was even better than the dreams of flying that I have over the years. Dave is a very skillful pilot and even better instructor, as he demonstrated how to operate the controls, then let me take over. Wow! Flying with Dave in his Stearman was like seeing barn stormers in the movies, as we would "buzz" by different barns and farms on the ground and take various different turns and maneuvers. You might think that flying in a 70 year old biplane would be a bumpy ride, but I was surprised to find that flying in the Stearman was very smooth. Like Dave says, "It's like riding in a Lincoln Continental with the top down." The whole experience was exhilarating to say the least, and is something that I would recommend for anyone looking for the perfect gift -- or even to just experience the thrill of flying in an open cockpit plane. I will definitely be back to experience it again...and again.
Thrilling and checked off a bucket list item. Would go again.
